The Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl is a fiction book that all ages will love. I liked to read or have it read to me. One reason I like this book is that it funny; it also has some animal characters, which I like -- especially Mr. Fox. My dad read this one after I told him how good it was.
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DICamillo is a fiction book about a rabbit. My teacher, Mr. Howard, read this book to the class, and it was so good that I read it again. My mom and grandma read it after me, too. It was sad and happy at the same time, and it was about a huge adventure. One of the best books I have ever read.
Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson is a fiction book about pirates. My teacher read this to the class and our family listened to it again in the car on our trip to Ohio for Christmas. It is about a big adventure, there’s lots of fighting and escapes, and it is super intense.
Ramona Quimby and Henry Huggins series by Beverly Cleary is a series of fiction books about a group of kids that live on the same street in Oregon. Romona is very silly and one of the youngest kids on the block. I read Ramona Age 8 at school and some of the other books, too. It is very fun to listen to these books in the car on trips. (Pro tip from Olivia’s dad: Neil Patrick Harris reads several of the Henry Huggins books, and they are wonderful.)
Little House on the Prairie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder is a series of nonfiction books about a girl named Laura and how she and her siblings grow up and move to different places. She was a pioneer. I like this book read to me, and I like to listen to it in the car on long car trips.
